You will probably be able to find an appropriate data sheet here:
http://www.tianma.com/products/character_displays/index.html
as well as the type of controller your LCD is using.
Make sure you are setting the LCD to 4-bit or 8-bit mode as appropriate.
There may also need to be an initialization sequence. This should all be
described in the data sheet from the above link.
