Infrared question

im working on a side project for my paintball gun & was wondering how
do i set up this receiver as the switch:

its got 3 leads & the other receivers iv seen only have 2.

The three leads on the IR receiver are for vdd, vss, and your input
pin for detection. The general schematics is

3 - |

You'll have to excuse the crudity but pin 1 is vdd, pin 2 connects to
vss, and pin 3 connects to your input pin port. If nothing is
detected pin 3 is high (1), when it detects a source, pin 3 then goes
low (0). You can get a general idea and implementation from the
