Regaining previous stored values after power faillure

Best friends,

For a graduate project, I use a BS2P24 with a serial LCD.
In the software, there are different preset values (variables) where there
has to be taken an action when the measured values exceeds these preset
values.
The 1st screen is a user menu (setting menu) where the user has the
possibility to change these preset values according to his needs. These new
variables are stored.
As long as the program runs, these new values are used for calculating the
needed actions.
When I have a short power failure and the program has to be reset, the
initially programmed values will be used again and the user values will be
lost.
Is there a possibility to store the new user values (not the preset values)
so that they can always be recalled after a power failure or a long shut
off, even without a backup battery? (Eprom ?)
The program has to restart always with the new user values.
Any help is welcome or a good push in the good direction will also be
appreciated.

Kindly regards

Peter
