DS1302 capacitor backup

I'm interested in using the ds1302 with the capacitor for backup. Has anyone
done this? If so, what size and type of capacitor did you use?
How many diodes did you use and what size resistor?
Is it true that the diode and resistors for the backup power supply are built
into the chip?
If you have the program code for setting this up, that would be great as well!
thanks

is still pretty mysterious to me, which is why I was hoping someone had
experience with this.
