BS1 Programming Protocol

Parallax People and others:
We recently had a thread in which somebody wanted to figure out how
to efficiently program BS1's, without using a PC. This left two open
questions, which I would like answered.

1. Is the PC "BSLOAD.exe" program still available for BS1 use?

2. Is the BS1 protocol proprietary to Parallax, or would you be so
kind as to publish it?

Thanks, AllanL

    Hi,

    >1. Is the PC "BSLOAD.exe" program still available for BS1 use?

Yes, it is, but it looks like it was left off of our CD and doesn't
appear to be on the web site. We'll have it on the website as soon as
    possible.

    >2. Is the BS1 protocol proprietary to Parallax, or would you be so

The BS1 protocol is unique to the Parallax BASIC Stamp 1, but it is not
something we are intentionally keeping secret. You are the first to ask
for it, to my knowledge. Unfortunately, we don't have it documented in
any accessible fashion right now, however, I will be doing so within the
    next two months.

I'll post it to the stamps list as soon as it is available.

Ummm, how about having a BS2 reprogram several BS1's as
    conditions change?
