I am currently working on a project where I need to determine the
location of a ball on a table. Information is received via a video
camera. We are using an 1881 sync separator to determine the line on
which the ball first appears. The ball is "found" by using a
comparator to "see" when the voltage increases. I want to use the
COUNT command to count the number of lines that occure before the
ball appears. The COUNT command specifies a period during which the
count occurs. I want to have a period that varies depending on when
the ball shows up. A sample and hold ic would have a latch but I do
not know how to incorporate this into setting the period for the
COUNT command. Does anyone here have any experience with using the
count command for varying periods?
