LCD Display for $12.50....

I'm looking for an easy connecting low cost LCD Display with
backlighting. I've come across a 2x24 LCD Display from All Electronics
for $12.50. Does anyone know how difficult this unit would be to get
running with a BS2P and the BS2P Demo Board? The display comes with a
2x7 plug which may make the header on the Demo Board.

CD-69&type=store
Does it matter that the documentation (see link) doesn't call out a
HD44780 driver, or will make it more difficult to get working?
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Chris

current is set with resistors R11-R13 and are populated with 4.7 ohm,
1206 resistors. If you remove R9(zero ohm jumper) the backlight will
be off. You can solder wires from each pad of R9 to a switch and
control the backlight on or off. The display takes about 400 mA with
the backlight on and if you switch the backlight on or off place a
220 uF cap by pins 1 and 2 of the LCD connector on your board or you
will reset your stamp with the surge. I have changed R11-R13 to 22
ohm, 1206 and the backlight is still bright enough to see in the dark
and only requires a fraction of the current.
Here is the display on one of my projects.
