Cellular Phone & BS2- Possible?

Greetings,

I would like to know if anyone has seen, constructed or had any experience
with an interface that will allow the BS2 to communicate with a cellular phone.

In a nutshell, my project requires my li'l Stamp buddy to monitor various
sensors (done) identify when system data exceeds preset parameters (also done)
and scream for help via cell phone if certain alarm conditions occur (mostly
done). Due to the various remote locations, cellular is the only viable
alternative. Analog phone numbers are now gone and we are having to replace all
of the old Motorola packs with digital phones. They all have that neat data port
on the bottom and I can easily purchase a cell phone to serial port cable. So
far, though, most require physical intervention to dial the phone and need
Windows 95 or higher.

It would be fruitful if there was also an auto answer feature that would
allow the cell phone to pick up incoming calls and initiate a serin/serout
session with the Stamp. Potentially, the telemetry could be viewed, parameters
changed, etc.

Basically, I think the questions that need to be answered include: Can the
cell speak natively to the Stamp? Is there a line level issue? Is there a ring
detect/dial tone issue? How do I make the cell initiate a call from the Stamp-
AT commands? Are there other obstacles that you see I am forgetting?

Thanks in advance.
Tim
