Servo voltage questions

Would upping the voltage from 4.8 to 6 to 7.2 yield a noticable
increase in speed of the servo?
I take it a servo wouldn't be able to take much more than 7.2, if
that...
I'm using the parallax continuous servos.

Shack 7.2V 2AH battery pack used in RC models. The servos do turn a
little faster but other than that I have had no adverse effects.

Yes - if it survives that voltage.

As several of you have replied, this is possible, but it seems to
be questionable if upping the voltage will or will not harm the servo.
The answer eventually would be yes, more voltage = more wear and tear,
electronics, gears, etc.
There is however a method that I have used before that will at least
preserve the electronics of the servo, not necessarily the motor.
High Power Driver - Servo Motor:

Here is a view of a similar modification, recycling the driver electronics
in an old SERVO to be used as an ESC (Electronic Speed Control) for a much
more robust motor. This modification was also done for the steering on the
same remote control car by using the existing steering gearbox and coupling
a feedback potentiometer to the gearbox.

i would'nt go above the normal 5 volt supply level.
