MacBS2 help
i am new to using basic stamps, and i'm a Macintosh-bound programmer. i
downloaded MacBS2 and am having a hardtime getting it to recognize the
stamp.
i tested the stamp using a PC and am able to get it to run successfully. when i
try on my powerbook it won't see the stamp - it says no stamp is connected,
check power and connections.
i am running MacOSX 10.2 (Jaguar) with a Keyspan 28X serial adaptor, and
have the Tokenizer installed as required. it recognizes the serial port in
MacBS2 and in the Keyspan Serial Assistant, and MacBS2 says my syntax is
okay.
any ideas? (besides getting a cheap PC to program it - i know i can do that)
thanks

Holly Cow!
Maybe I'm mistaken, but I read the statement about a cheap PC exactly as it
says: buy an old PC for a few dollars at the local Goodwill or flea market.
I don't believe for a minute that it was a slam against PCs in general!
My take, anyway.

I see the old Mac/PC war brewing... let's not go there.
You can avoid using a PC if you can get a hold of Virtual PC and use that on
your Mac.
I have played with MacBS2, and it will not work with my serial adapter
(which works fine under Virtual PC).
Until support is built in for FTDI, I will not be able to use MacBS2.
Personally, I don't really like OS X anyway. Hate the candy coloured aqua
interface. Luckily, I found a Plantinum skin (aka OS9 look alike) for OS
X...
But, yeah, VPC under OS 9.2.2, no trouble at all, and my friend now has an
old Toshiba laptop surplus to my needs that he is using as a linux box...
