The Harris/Intersil series 7660CPA might work for your application. You can
check the Jameco web site for more information. I don't know if you'd need
more filtering to suppress ripple.

    the linear technology LT1026 will work -- only need a few (2)
    capacitors. I ran some distortion tests comparing use of the LT1026
    and some Linear LT1014 and TI TLC2274 opamps, comparing results with
    my regular Lambda opamp power supply versus driving the LT1026 with a
    9 volt battery. the distortion was 0.100% compared with 0.003% with
    the Lambda.

    If you are in a pinch, you can always cheat off a MAX232 and obtain
    +/- voltages.

    It's not ripple, it's switching noise btw.
