RF ID Tags

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone has done a project with RF ID tags? We
have a problem at work with people removing prints and documentation
and never returning it. I am looking to tag all of it, put it in a
room, then set up a key card or some type of access control on the
door. I was hoping to track who was removing print sets from the
room based on entry and the RF ID tag. I was looking at the
Microchip website and they have quite a few models of RF ID chips but
when you try to order a sample or get a price it has no information.
Anyone ever mess with this before that can give me a hint on where to
get started or point me to a development kit of some kind?

Thanks,
Ron

    Hey Ron,

Take a look at www.hvwtech.com and look under USB devices along the left
side of the page. From there you can get to the inexpensive RFID kit that
they offer. I'm sorry to say that I haven't used it yet, but I've had my
eye on it for some time.

    Hope that helps,

    Tim

I have seen RF id tags from SecuraKey at a recent trade show. They may
have what you are looking for. Their web site on some samples I have here
    is www.securakey.com
