Hi guys,

i'm new to stamp bs2 and this club, so bare with me, i'm not new
with robot, i design one 20 years ago with forth cpu and 2 sonars
and infrared, and voice. For witch i won many awards, i was the
first in Montrea Canada to build such a things. The past 2 weeks i
read every one message and you guys gave me the urge to build a new
robot base on parallax microcontroller, so i receive my bs2 2 days
ago, but after reading, i'm scared to put power on this and blw it
up. So i need a board for it,nex 1000 is $253 in Canada + 15% tax,
so forget it, and the activity board is also expensive already build.
So i'm wandered if any of you got a schematic like the activity
board, to send me, i'll reallyu appreciate. By the way i paid my bs2
$96 at my door, as you see you guys got the real money hihi...
thaks a millions
John

I'm sure lots of people will send you here:
    http://www.parallax.com/Downloads/Documentation/Board_of_Education_Man
    ual.pdf
Cut and paste into Notepad, and fix the line break, then
cut and paste into your browser. This PDF has the schematic
of the Board of Education, including an on-board LM2940 regulator.
Parallax has most of their board's schematics on their site
    www.parallax.com.
    You might also try
http://www.phanderson.com -- 'roll your own stamp' and parts
http://www.kronosrobotics.com -- Search on 'Regulated' for
    a nice breadboard regulator kit.

Our web site is a very valuable resource, you will find plenty of schematics
    to get you going there.

check out this web site: http://geocities.com/jimforkin2003/ that has a
schematic you can use to build your own board or buy the board unpopulated
    and add your own parts.

You can download most of the schematics from Parallax. Typically they are
found on the page with the documentation for the board. Making your own
board is easy -- I only have a couple of store-bought boards, everything
else I have prototyped on a generic board from Radio Shack or designed my
    own circuit board for.

Several caveats apply to doing your own board:

Use a socket for the Stamp -- do not solder the Stamp directly on the board.
Use a machine-pin socket if you can find one.

If in doubt, use a 330 ohm resistor between the Stamp I/O pins and whatever
you are connecting it to. This will prevent you from hosing a pin
    accidentally.

Double-check your work *before* plugging in the Stamp. I always visually
check my work, then apply power to the board without the Stamp being
installed, to be sure the power supply is putting out the proper voltage and
it goes to the right pins.
