Please help..... I'm trying to monitor an input with the BS2, if the
input doesn't fit within a limit I want the BS2 to call an leave a
numerical page...... can it be done without a 3rd party dialer?

    You can determine if an input is within some limit but you can not just
    connect a stamp to a phone line and dial out. Any device attached to a
    phone line must be tested and then certified by the FCC. Interfacing to a
    phone line has several safety implications and all must be considered.
    Also, remember, you are dealing with normal voltages up to 60 volts and ring
    voltages over 110 volts ac so your device must be isolated to prevent
    damage.

    I've seen some applications using the Parallax Modem AppMod --
    $120.00. On the other hand, you SHOULD be able to us any
    off the shelf Modem which speaks Hayes 'ATDT' with only
    serial (RS-232) interfacing.
    Send ATDT 555-1212;
    Wait a little...
    Send ATDT 999-9999#;
    wait a little...
    Send ATH0

    Translation: The first ATDT dials the pager service.
    (the semicolon tells the modem to stay in command
    mode, so you can send more numbers)
    Wait a little for them to pick up.
    The second ATDT sends the pager number to be sent.
    Wait a little for them to acknowledge.
    ATH0 hangs up the modem.
