DB9 Standoffs

Does anyone else use the DB-9 on the BS2 Carrier board to panel mount their
projects? I have found that if I take off the battery clips (easy to
desolder or just tear them off with a plier), the board will support from 5
to 50 components and several connectors. I usually keep a half dozen of
these boards for "onezeies" projects. On my most recent project, I took off
my battery clips, punched the panel with a DB9 hole and was about to mount
the board when I realized that the standoffs (we used to call them jack
screws and pay a lot more from Canon) wasn't the one Parallax had used all
these years. The standoff was built into the connector and couldn't be
unscrewed. I know I could mount the board many other ways, but I have grown
inflexible in my old age and will miss the old connector. Does anyone know
if this is a long term change? The picture on the Parallax site shows the
original design.
Just grumbling ......

Email Parallax about it - they most likely thought it didn't matter. If
even a few customers mention the change as being a problem, they may revert
back to the original style.
Regardless - can't hurt to let them know about it.
