Hello All,
I cooked my first stamp and need some help as their expensive :-)
I want to use a tone around 2000 Hz picked by a microphone to turn a stamp
input to "0". If some one give me a little help I would be thankful. I'm
using a BOE with a BS2.
Thanks

capacitor (simple half wave rectifier). Use a 5.1 V zener diode to
ensure that the input stays inside the 0.5-V and 5.1V positive limits
which keeps TTL circuitry happy in life. I've done this before and it
works well. Though admitadly not all in the same circuit at the same
time.<G> I also have a BOE.

Thanks for the input, (no pun).
Why charge a capacitor ?? Other wise I'm with you.

Do a search for NE567 or XR567
These are nice little 8 pin tone decoders that work very well. I've used
thousands of them over the years.

If the signal is just amplified, then squared, it is possible that the
signal may be missed off and on due to the possibility that the signal
may not be the desired level at the pin when the program is looking at
the pin.
One of the other fellas did mention a tone decoder. A more elegant
method of doing things, but also very effective. There's more than one
way to work out a solution many times<G>.

I think the capacitor acts as a filter to further smooth out the
current from the rectifier.

Whats the best op amp and configuration to use to amplifier the tone ?
My input is .1 mVolts from the microphone. (2000 HZ)
I have tried a 741 with little sucess, I would like to use a 12 volt dc
supply voltage.
If some one could point me to a web page with a circuit that I could use,
that would really help.
