Greetings!
I have a 8" somewhere...
It was bought for use during a class in Assembly language programming on a
DIGITAL PDP-11 machine...
That was fun...
Octal numbers and virtual memory on that ancient piece...
(The class was in 1991 or so, and we used the PDP because it 'didn't matter
if we fucked it up' :-)
You know, I think I have one or two flowcharting templates somewhere...
(In addition to slide rules, 'whizz wheels' and old computers :-)
Strange...
The BS2(and even the BS1) is more powerful than some of the computers in my
collection...
:-)

But do you have a 132 column ruler and an IBM 360 Reference Data sheet? I
think there is even a VOLIE editor book around somewhere. I dug through the
Smile pile even further and found some RPG coding sheets as well.
Got any 8" diskettes?

I have a 386 that I use for logging serial comms(It has 2 fast serial ports
and OpenDOS. It's also good for programming my BS1), but I use an HP Omnigo
700LX (Dos based Clamshell PDA) to program my BS2p...
And I write Sci-fi on my 1989 vintage Psion MC400 laptop...
(It has 20Hours active usage on a single recharge. :-)
Progress?
Is it 4 or 5Hours they tout on the latest machines?

Hi,
I guess I'm the oldest (or fartest?) old fart on the list. My formal
applied science involvement started round 1945 and my main weapons (Before
Computers) were a series of 12" K&E slide rules, the latest of which I stiil
keep. BTW, I still use a 386 with various attachments as a very reliable
data acquisition system. DOS is not too bad! And, of course, several
BSII's...

If you need parts for the PDP-11 (or 8 for that matter) I have some floating
around the junk pile still.
I like to show the newbies what an 8k core memory looks like.
