SERIN/SEROUT with Flow Control in Non-Inverting mode

Does anyone know how to connect two Basic Stamps so they can talk to
each other with SERIN/SEROUT with flow control in Non-inverting mode?

I've seen articles on Stamp to Stamp communication with flow control
in inverting mode. Nuts & Volts column 31 shows example of Inverting
mode by connecting GND of two Stamps. And I've tried and it works
well. I connected GND of 1st INEX board to GND of 2nd INEX board
(each INEX board has BS2).

However, in Non-Inverting mode, do I connect GND of two Stamps?
Or do I connect VDD of two Stamps?

My set up has two Basic Stamp2, each on an INEX board powered by
separate wall transformer.

Does anyone know what happens if I connect two VDD from one INEX
board to VDD of another INEX board? Any damage to power supply or
Stamp?

If anyone has experience or knowledge about connecting two Stamps in
non-inverting mode of asynchronous serial communication, I would
really appreciate it.

Happy stamping to you all...
