Cheap Terminal?

For my latest robot project, I am designing a remotely controlled
rover. For the radio link, I plan to use a Parallax wireless
transciever. To avoid interfacing issues with RS232 vs TTL level
signals, I'd like to have a Stamp operate the Mission Control RF
link and display the data on a screen. I've used a terminal program
to do this before, but this time I don't want to lug around a laptop
just to operate the rover.
Has anyone seen or used a simple terminal that I could interface a
Stamp to? Preferrably it would just display text data sent to it on a
LCD screen and would transmit what ever keys were pressed by
the operator to the Stamp. The BS2p will take care of all the
formatting and parsing. The terminal just needs to display what it
is told.
Assuming I can't find one, I'll interface an LCD controller like Scott
Edwards and a key pad. But I am hoping for something a little
larger to match the 5" TV that the wireless video uses.

You already mentionned to use an LCD-controller and keypad - more
precisely TRM-425L (http://www.seetron.com/trm/mnl.htm). I am using
such a combination as a debugging aid for various projects. Whilst
4x20 is not a lot compared to even a 5" crt display, it is easy to
setup and adds only little extra complexity to the overall system
(think of debugging the debugger). The TRM-425 ist not just an LCD
controller but a real (small of course) terminal, and you can provide
a stamp to add some "intelligence" if you need it.

Have you considered an HP100? This is a 3"x6" complete XT compatable
computer complete with a standard 24 x 80 display, complete qrwty
keyboard and a builtin termimal program. It can also run just about any
DOS XT compatable software like procomm etc. or even your own developed
programs. I even run PERL on mine.
Another thought would be an HP48 Calc. It will talk RS-232 and give you
a 6 x 20 display with 32K of memory and a keyboard that is customizable.
You could send large sequences of ASCII thru a single button presses,
kind of like macros... and even have a job scheduler if you wanted.
Just some thoughts,
History says King George is gone,
But I just saw him on the White House lawn!
He has no bounds, and accepts no borders,
If Congress won't do it, he "Executive Orders".

Oh, and used ones can be had for ~$40 on Ebay.

already done it before. For an example application to connect a hp48
to a stamp see the files section for "StampInterface.zip".

the subject? It has a file attachment and it contains the
W32.Bugbear.B.Dam.
The message seems to be from "Michael Burr" <mburr@s...> but
also has that the message was written by verhap@o....
Just want to know if anyone else got it and also to foward this
warning.

Just a Heads up!!!
Yes, I received it at the house on an Email account that I don't have
set up with the basicstamps group!
Thanks!

list member as well as having Beau's other email address on their PC. The
"from" address on the virus-laden message most likely does not identify the
sender, only another person in the infected computer's address book.
Best thing to do is to get a decent virus package (I have been very pleased
with Norton) and not to worry about where the virus comes form.

wanted to warn the rest of the group. No matter who it came from, it
is just something to look out for.
I never open an attachement if I don't know what it is.
