Time Logging using Basic Stamp

Hi everyone,
Can I use a Basic Stamp to log a downtime of a certain machine then
interface it on a PC and then download the Downtime to the PC using
excel.
Example: a system was down for 7:00,then I will just press a start
button on my basic stamp circuit, then it was up for 9:00, then was
don again for 10:00 and up by 11:00 etc, then I will connect the
gadget to a PC that has an excel format and the gadget will
automatically upload the file to the PC and update it.
Thank you very much.

You should be able to do that with a Stamp. If you need accurate timing
info, you will need some sort of external clock, as the Stamp does not have
a real clock. If you don't need super accurate timing there are ways to do
it with just the Stamp. But overall, you should be able to get the Stamp to
do what you describe.
