Interfacing with a HCTL-1100

Hello All!
I am working on a Senior Thesis project. We are tackling a SLAM
problem, and currently I am trying to use a Basic Stamp 2 to
interface to two HCTL-1100 precision motion controllers. I was
curious if anyone had ever attempted this type of project before. A
quick web search did not produce anything of substance. Would be
interested if anyone has any helpful suggestions.

controller? If not, start there. The BS2 can use synchronous and
asynchronous serial, as well as I2C (with code) -- chances are you can
control it with the BASIC Stamp if it uses a standardized interface.
I'll bet that a quick web search (I like Google, but there are other good
search engines) will net a lot of useful information.

multiplexed address/data bus. The data sheet has plenty on
information on addressing. I was hoping someone out there might have
already done some development for a similar system.
