Servo Shuttering

I am using 3 hitec HS.55 with the miniSSC. I am running the servos
from the same LM2940 voltage regulator (5V) that is providing power
to the BS2. When only one servo is connected, it moves smoothly.
When 2 or three are connected they are noisy and
constantly "shuttering" even when no signal is being sent to them?
The LM2940 provide 1A and according to literature, the servo uses
only .15A when running, and non of my other circuit components need
more than .2A. Is it a problem with voltage? Should I run the
servos from a separate supply? higher voltage?
many thanks,
Al
