Insurance issues

Dear Dave,

Are you sure about your comment on an insurance company rejecting a claim
because it's the
owner's fault? What would happen if any accident was the owner's fault?
Insurance would
not pay? This seems to defeat the purpose of insurance. Accidents happen and
when they
do, I thought insurance was supposed to cover the damage.

thoughts?

As long as it is inspected and approved the insurance company doesn't
have a leg to stand on if something would happen.

"if it does not meet code and a fire starts, the insurance company can
    reject the claim."

    Thats basically what he said.

I don't know about the US and UL but, in Canada, insurance companies always
look to see if electrical fires are started by non CSA approved gear.No
    approval, no insurance.
