40 pin BS2 on TAB Kit

Hi, I'm currently futzing around with one of the TAB "Build Your Own
Robot" kits, and was wondering if it was possible to stick the 40 pin
BS2 into the socket (with adapter, of course) without getting in the
way of either the sensor package on the front or the serial connectors
on the side. It looks like it would be a close fit if it fits at all.
I won't say i'll really be broken up if it can't fit: I am sure that
the extra pins can be accounted for with an I/O Coprocessor. The 40
pin would allow for both program simplicity and money saving though.
So any help I could get would be massively appreciated.
