"No BASIC stamps found" error when trying to download to stamp

I wrote and sucessfully downloaded my program to the stamp, but now
all of a sudden, I get this error ("No BASIC stamps found") when I
try to download to the chip. Did I break the stamp somehow? I've
tried re-wiring it, and everything i can think of. I still get 5
volts out of pin 21. I have 11.5 volts and a ground to 24 and 23.
The correct BASIC program is on the chip, is there some way to just
make it start? Please help...

Could have damaged the voltage regulator or static discharge could
have zapped it...also try a fresh battery...herman
