Security System Dial-out

Hi,

Was wondering if anyone has worked on a system to dial numbers in
case of a break-in.

Here are some ideas:

Have the system dial up to say four numbers

Needs to be able to handle people, answering machines, pagers and know when
to start a message transfer

Can recite a pre-recorded message (e.g. digital message chip) or a certain
coded message to pager

Need some way to allow changing of numbers without a lot of reprogramming

Regular phone lines can be cut by someone knowing you have a security system
dial-out. Was wondering if there were any ways to hook up a cellular system
to do the above as well.

Just mulling over design ideas at this time, so if anyone has done some
pre-work on this, there is no need to re-invent the wheel. As well with this
list there are always great ideas flowing and maybe there are some things to
add.

I am planning to use the stamp as the main controller monitoring zones and
controlling keypads, sirens, etc. The only part I need ideas on are the
dialing areas.

Thanks for the help.

I've dialed pager systems with a Stamp using a small modem (Cermetek). As I
recall, it has an audio input that you could -- once you've determined there
was an answer -- play a message through.

Radio Shack used to make one of these -- they sold for about $100.

You can do the same with a Stamp and one BoE-Bot speech boards

    units.

I was browsing though the Digi-Key catalogue one day and found these
great voice recording chips by Winbond:
