im looking for something similar with basic stamp in c/c++

I dont have much expirence with electrical enginering. Basic stamp is he
perfect fit for me (the assembled chips without the serial ports on
them). However i am a professional programmer and i find that using the
pbasic language is too elimentary. Can anyone tell me of a product like
basic stamp from the electrical standpoint but uses c/c++ as a
programmign language. I can go straight to a microcontroller chip cause
i dont have much expirence.

How about the Javelin stamp from Parallax? Same pin
outs a Basic Stamp, but programs in Java. If you are
a C++er that should be a good fit.

Id rather work with c++ then java if possible. also they dont have
many choices int he javelin line at the moment. I was looking for
something with jsut a tad more power.

Why not just go with a PIC? You can get C compilers for those.

C/C++ compilers cost from free up to several thousand dollars.
Most C compilers have a demo or eval version that they distribute for free,
you just have to download it. Usually, (exception the GNU C compilers) the
demo/eval compilers are time limited, or limited on large of a program you
    can compile.
A lot of the compilers cost about $200 or so.

Ubicom Scenix MCU's are used as the main MCU in some of the Basic Stamps.
Other Basic Stamps used a PIC MCU. Some of the Basic Stamp Clones use Atmel
    MCU's.
You could go with the Parallax Javalin Stamp it uses a embedded Java
language that is sort of like C and Pascal combined.

If you go with a MCU versus the Basic Stamp, you'll need a programmer for
the MCU, and a compiler or programming language of some sort for it. Then
there are ICE units for debugging et cetera. I would suggest you stick with
a mainstream or common MCU such as the ATMEL AVR's or PIC Micros, as they
have a lot of support in user groups and forums should you need help.
www.avrfreaks.net is a great one for ATMEL AVR's.

The neat things about the Basic Stamps, was that the Stamps came with
everything built in. So you could program it easily via the serial port.
When you compare the cost of a Basic Stamp it looks more expensive, but it
has everything built in, so it winds up being more inexpenasive in a lot of
    cases.
Plus the support is about the best, you can't get better than that.
