I ear'd somethings like Basic Stamp 3 is going to take place soon.
And it will be much more fast than BS2.

Does anybody know anything for real about it ?

Beacuase i could really use that speed for production designs
instead of slows prototypes.

Thank's

Graduate to the SX chip that you can get from Parallax. Programming AT FIRST
is not as easy as the stamp but it is very fast....running at 50 MHz, a
typical instruction takes two clock cycles, that's 40 nano seconds per
instruction.....

Lots of work yet to do because it's a much bigger leap than what you're
probably expecting. It will be worth the wait. What that means is that
there is no release date set at this time.

I know, I know, you can't talk about it. But I need to try anyway :)

it'll still be Pbasic right not java?

Is there some kind of announcement e-mail list I can get on to find out more
"as it happens"?

Yes, it will still be PBASIC, albeit an advanced version of it. You can
count on annoucements here and our web site. There won't be a lot of "as it
happens" notices; when it happens is a more appropriate time to discuss
details.

A lot of work has gone into the BS3 and there is a lot of work yet to do.

If its got floating point, better if-then-else, >512bytes of ram, and the
ability to recieve serial on 2 pins while running other code; parallax might
win me back 100%.

:) no need to answer, I can wait. Even though I'm not a diehard stamper, I
am very excited about the idea of a BS3. Thanks for the info you have let
slide, I hope I didn't get anyone in trouble!
