SV: [basicstamps] Establish connection between BS2 and mobile pho ne

Greetings!

I would suggest buying the Siemens Data cable since that will give you the
correct plugs and a normal 9pin DB connection.
(You may need a driver chip for the correct voltages, though)

Emne: [basicstamps] Establish connection between BS2 and mobile phone

I would like to construct a connection between BS2 and my mobile
phone, I am using siemens S35i, and as your information, mobile phone
is a kind of air modem which transmit signal wirelessly.
Nnow that I would like to use AT command to send SMS via BS2
which is link to the mobile phone, may be the application is just
similiar to what is done by using cemetek modem.
But cemetek modem needs only TxD and RxD pin connected to BS2 in
order to execute AT command but in turns, how mobile phone should be
CONNECTED to BS2? this is a big problem that I need to solve before I
could execute AT command.
Please help me in this matter by providing any information or
possible solution from you all, I would greatly appreciating all
informations or suggestions !

Thanks for your information, but what do you mean by driver chip for the
correct voltages and how could I utilize it?

you just need to buy the data cable.
I have such a chip that you could purchase for US$150.

I use my basic stamp as an inerface between a gps and my mobile
phone. Signaling into the stamp is normally no problem, you can
connect the in-wire direct to the in-pin you choose. Just put a 20k
resistor in between to get the signal right and protect the stamp.
Signalling out from the stamp is another issue. The voltage levels
coming from the stamp I/O pins is considerably lower than those
standardized in the rs232 serial interface. Sometimes connecting a
gadget directly from the stamp works, sometimes not. I had some
problems getting the phone to react to at commands, but since size is
no issue in my project I finally connected the phone to the serial
port on my demo board (the one used for programming the stamp) and
    voil

I thought "at" commmands were only for modems... is this a
feature of your particular mobile phone or do they all support
them? How about celluar phones - anybody know?
