Noise cancellation

Has anyone built or looked into a noise cancellation application for
the stamp(e.g. noisy tools like a router). I was thinking of real
time sampling and inverse output to an audio amp. Is the stamp right
for this or is it overkill.

I doubt that any BASIC-language micro (BASIC Stamp or any of the various
wannabes) would be fast enough for this kind of app -- and you may not even
need a micro at all. An audio circuit that inverts the "noise" source and
mixes into the "clean" source may do the trick.
