Direct BS2 interface to Kodak USB camera

I'm trying to get a BS2 to directly talk to my Kodak DC4800 with a
USB port. I understand I need to use a USB host chip from either
Cypress or Philips. Has anyone tried this before?
Thanks,
Sanjay

I've just bought a USB based camera the other day too.

I've been thinking about a BS2 based project to talk to the camera - perhaps
using it as a stand alone webcam, where the BS2 grabs the image from the
Camera and ftp's it to my website.

There is a very common USB controller chip used in Macs and PC's and PCI to
USB adapter cards, the 80C861 made by Opti.

    http://www.opti.com/html/usb1394.html

Has pdf's etc for their USB chips, and a few FireWire solutions as well.

    cheers,

    Ben.

I agree with you. I need a PIC with a USB port.
