stepper / slip ring / commutator

Stamp Folks,

My current project has two stepper motors. The first rotating an 18"
aluminum platform via a toothed belt (timing belt) and the second sitting
on the platform. I may rotate the platform as many as 20 times, stop then
rotate the stepper mounted on the platform. The stepper on the platform is
a NEMA 11 frame but could be as small an a NEMA 8 ( I'm just thinking of
using the motor I have in the shop). I also have three small solenoids with
a common return to power on the platform.
Considering the loads, do I want to use slip rings? Where do you get them
in a reasonable package size. I'd like to keep it down to 2" diameter so it
doesn't take up my free space under the platform. I know there are those
who would "roll their own", but I'm looking for an off the shelf solution
that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Mike
