Hi Don,

this list appears to be moderated by Parallax, but also by us readers.

It would be good form to out OT (Off topic) in the subject line and
to change the subject line when the subject actually changes.

This is done for a number or reasons.

#1) for those of us who want to find threads it is MUCH easier to
search and FIND when the subject line is accurate.

#2) for those that want to pass on a particular subject, the can do
so easily.

Persoanlly, I find the topic extreemly interesting, but I cringe at
the attacks.

Being a list of intelegent people and thinkers, I would assume that we
1) recognise new technology
2) ask ourselves "what if..." all the time.
3) hear when people choose to not disect the facts and find the basis
of the concept or principals.

At this point I too have to agree that this thread has run it's
course. Time to move on or bring it back on topic.

Those that have any interest have already looked at the links and
schematics and understand the principals.

Those that don't care, well, don't care.

the argument for 50 year battey life is one of simplicity. IF I buy
new car today, I WANT the NEW battery and warrantee and all that.

If, in 3-5 years the battery is dieing and I'm visiting relative or
on vacation, I get a new battery. if I think it's cool to
desulphanate, I refresh. then in 5-10 years I get a new car and new
battery. I don't care that in theory the battery may last longer
than me.

I think that the battery industry is able to keep prices down by
selling millions of extra batteries a year. If we had your unit on
all cars and trucks, then it is one battery per vehicle for the life
of the vehicle. Greatly limits a few industries. good or bad, there
are peoples jobs to be won and lost. how can you use technology to
fight an emotional battle.

My mom used to say, "I know what I'm talking about, don't confuse me
with the facts"

That said, you made your point. time to move on.
