No basic stamp found

THIS IS A GREAT GROUP I HAVE ENJOYED LEARNING FROM YOU ALL!
I am having a problem with communications with a BS2, I am running
basic stamps editor 1.33. When I do an "identify" I get Loopback and
Echo.When I do "RUN" or "F9" I receive and error No Basic Stamp
Found.I had this problem in the begining and learned from your group
that the Palm Pilot program had the com port tied up have corrected
this and had success communicating for a while.I read hear that their
may be problems with some of the newer windows software so I tried on
2 more older computers with the same results.
My Stamp may be dead? Any suggestions would be appreiciated
