Burned out BS2SX?

Hi, all!
I think I've just managed to burn up a BS2SX, whether from a short circuit or
ESD, I'm not sure. Is there any way to verify that the Stamp is, in fact dead?
It doesn't respond to the serial port when I try programming it. I put a spare
Stamp in the socket, and it works fine, but I wanted to be sure before I tossed
the old one.
BTW, is there any easy way to detect which part is dead? I'd like to fix it
eventually, rather than just tossing it. Thanks!

Robert

First thing I would to is get the schematic to deterime which pin is the
output of the on-board 5v regulator and see if you have 5 volts.

I had a BS2 5 volt regulator fail which gave me the same problem you have.
    After replacing the regulator, repaired!

    Thanks!
I'm currently using regulated 5V for input, so I may try just bypassing the
    onboard regulator...
