from PARALLAX and to build an experimentation board on your own.
This is simple and you can use salvaged parts from used equipment.
You need a computer however - does not need to be a powerful machine.
The software (stamp basic compiler/editor), handbook and schematics
can be downloaded for free from the PARALLAX web site.
You may want to download the stamp manual first to get an idea what
is possible and how it works.
The main things are to get the program the manual and also a chip.
If you are familair with electronics and can make your own circuit
boards ( or have a friend who can) you can buy just the pre-
programmed PIC from Parallax and do the rest yourself. It is less
expensive and will get you started.
It is hard for many of us here in the US to realize that a BS2 may be
the income for a week for someone in other parts of the world.

BTW: Vin is for unregulated voltage power input (to the
stamps internal controller). It is used for battery backup
for example. This internal regulator does not provide
much power for external components however. But it comes
very handy if you just want to hookup a battery to the
stamp.
