Ultra-bright 7 seg LED display

Hello!
I've been searching for an ultra-bright (300+ millicandela) dual digit, seven
segment LED display, preferably common anode. I would prefer them to be at least
.5" tall, but size is not necessary. I checked all the usual sources (Jameco,
Digikey, All Electronics, etc.), but have been unable to find anything matching
these parameters. I would like the display to be visible outside, and preferably
<$10. Have any of you run across a display meeting these specs?
I would also like to find a 5-15 segment bar graph display, also visible
outdoors. Do you know of any sources for these products?
I'm planning to use these for an airspeed telemetry unit for sailplanes that I'm
building for a high school science fair project. Thanks very much!
