Troubleshooting my circuit, I get a TTL level RS-232 signal to the T1
IN buffer but nothing at the T1 OUT pin!

NOTHING is connected to pins 21 through 26 as mentioned on page 9 of
the product documentation.

Am I missing something or did i get a dud chip?

off to the Maxim website, I am

    Hi Jim -

You may want to take a look at this example:

    Thanks for the reply, Bruce.

Unfortunately, I have to use the on-chip buffers because I am
interfacing to an RS422 device and require the signal levels that the
MAX 3110's internal buffers can supply.

I would not be doing this at all if the BASIC Stamp could communicate
at the same baudrate of the controlled equipment (38.4kb). Alas,
there are limits to everything, even Stamps.

I'll take a hard look at the code though. Thanks!

    Jim
