EEPROM Verify Error on BS1

Hello all,

I'm using a Basic Stamp 1 on a normal carrier board.

I am using DOS also from Win98 (restarting to DOS). I powered the
Basic Stamp with a 9V battery

I've probed all pins from parrallel port to the BS1 and they do reach
the pins 2,3,4. My parrallel port works because I print stuff with it.

I have written a program that compiles (tokenizes) well.

And finally, I keep receiving this error:

"EEPROM verify error"

My BS1 never worked before. I just received it. I am not a newby for
having used several BS2 before.

Can you help me kindly?

I found that you have to download when in pure (i.e. boot) dos mode.
