beginner: how to program switching a led with een simple buttom???

hello my name is TOM THijsen, I'm a beginner in this new basic world,
but i can't find a program to command a simple led with a pushbuttom
or photoresistor, how must I program it? thanks already very much,

    The Stamps-In-Class books that Parallax offers are a great way to
    learn. Check out www.stampsinclass.com

    These are free to download and can walk you through all the details
    for hooking up switches, photoresistors, IR detectors, etc. to
    control LED's, sounds, motors, etc.
