Pulse doubler?

Hey guys I'm a noob, and I have a totally bs2 unrelated question. Part
of a circuit that I have has 2 alternately blinking LED's. (Like a RR
crossing light). I want to have a LED numerical display show the number
of times that both lights have blinked. And I'm a little confused as
to how to wire up a single counter IC to tally them up. Can I combine
the pulses from the output? I'm just generally confused as to what to
do. Any help would be nice.
Thanks,
Ryan Daniels

drives the LED's into an OR gate, then the output of the OR gate to the clock
input of your counter.
If you need more detailed information, you can FAX me a portion of your
schematic for the LED's and I can FAX back to you the required hook ups.
