I need somemore help!

alright, I'm on to stepper motors, I have a uni-polar 6 wired stepper motor,
I understand I need to run my stamp pin through a transistor in order to
increase the current, but I'm not sure of the setup, like I don't know what
wires to connect to on my motor, I know that the 2 reds are common and the
colours of the different stages, but I don't the know where I connect the
collector of the transistor, that kinda stuff!

so any info would be great!

Thanks alot Brad

    Brad,

For interfacing outputs, the ULN2803 IC makes it simple. I don't know how
big your stepper is, but this IC will drive small steppers, and you can
always parallel it's outputs for additional current gain. I use them now
whenever I am interfacing an output from my basic stamp projects to protect
    the stamp.

I don't know much about stepper motors, so I can't help you there, but I
will be following this thread to see what I can learn about them.

Here is a link to a data sheet on the ULN2803

    Regards,

    Dwain.

    Brad,

See the Parallax Stamp1 Application Note 6: A Stepper Motor Controller.
It uses a ULN2003, which has 7 Darlington transistor drivers, but you
can also use the ULN2803, with 8 drivers, as Dwain suggested. In my
application, I added an extra relay to switch the motor current ON/OFF,
using a stamp pin and one of the unused ULN drivers to drive the relay.
