and I am looking to either sell it or even consider a trade

I looked at the documented link but didn't see whether it works with the BS2P.

Does it have the upgraded firware that allows it to work with the version
1.31 or above editor from Parrallax? The older units (the ones from DigiKey
etc.) will not work with the latest Parrallax editor! If it is the newer unit
I would be interested.

The latest version of the Stache firmware is 1.7.

If you purchased the Stache in 2002 and did not receive the version
1.6 firmware, we will also cover the return shipping. It takes a
while to get the new firmware into the distribution pipeline.

Stache firmware version 1.4 supports the BS2p, but you have to use it
with version 1.1 of the IDE (STAMPW.EXE).

Stache firmware version 1.6 supports the BS2p, and also version 1.3x
of the IDE. Stache 1.7 adds support for the BS2pe (slower, low power
version of the BS2p) in IDE v1.33 and, we expect, for 2nd party
programs that use the tokenizer libraries and follow the published
programming protocols.

With version 1.2 to the current version 1.33 of the IDE, Parallax has
made major changes in the way that the IDE identifies Stamps that may
be attached to the com ports. The Stache has to be able to mimic any
of the Stamps. It has to deal with the timing and codes thrown at it
by the programming software, and then it has to turn around and
pretend to be a PC, so that it can identify and program any of the
available Stamp 2 models. We have been working closely with Parallax
to keep the Stache up with these changes.
