    Hi Johan,

I'm just repeating what I said in my previous email to you for the benefit
    of everybody on the list.

You should be able to use a BS2p instead of the BS2. When I wrote the
software, I tested it with a BS2sx and BS2e - so there shouldn't be any
reason why the BS2p doesn't work other than you may have to change some of
the template software based on exactly how the BS2p works.

I don't have the BASIC Stamp databook in front of me, but the only concern I
would have is current consumption - the BS2p shouldn't require more current
than the BS2 or else you will find that the robot's batteries will not run
    as long as expected.

The BS2p runs significantly faster and, therefore, draws more current than
the BS2. You can expect shorter battery life with the BS2p versus the BS2.

I got it. It's front skid gets stuck in the
grout lines between my tiles. Other than that
it works fine. You need a flat surface to
    run it on.

I just bought the BS-2 for $35 to get the discount.
Now I got two to network...

Like the comments before It should work, but
    higher current draw.

I found that cutting triangular grooves with an exacto knife gives the wheels
some traction. That solved a number of problems for me.

My problem is not with the wheels it is
with the front nose skid. The grout is
roughly about 1/16" below the surface of
the tile. I don't think the extra traction
would help. The robot just follows the grout
    lines forever

I thinking of removing the wheels and adding
on tank treads. TAIKO (sp) has a set for
$15 but is only one motor drive instead
of two. So a little mechanical engineering
    is needed.

As you said, the problem is not with the wheels, but with the "front nose".
Just replace that acorn nut with an adhesive teflon "furniture mover". They
cost $3 for a set of four, available at your local supermarket or hardware
store.. My robot now moves over carpets and tiles with ease. The teflon
disks are just over one inch in diameter, and stick nicely to the bottom
front of the robot board. Remove the acorn nut, and stick on a teflon disk.
