How/Where to look up ICs?

I have a pile of old PC cards, laser printers and assorted other
electronic goodies laying around. All are functional, just out of
date. I've been poking through them some, seeing if there are
salvagable parts I can use (got me some trim pots, 1 line LCD, RAM,
motors, LCDs etc).
Problem is that I can't seem to find any information on 3/4 of the
ICs. Anyone have favorite places to look?
