VPC issues talking to BS2...

An idea I have at the moment (have just ordered the chip to see if this
works):
Using the USBMOD1 from ftdi, and a Max232 or similar, I'm going to attempt
to make my own USB to RS232 converter.
The USBMOD1 supports ALL RS232 lines, so this should work. Plus the
USBMOD1, like the USBMOD2, also turns up as a standard Coms port on your PC
or Mac. So, in VPC, the idea will be to install the Windows drivers for the
USBMOD1, and therefore bypassing the VPC to Mac bridging. Should work, will
report back soon with results.
This should also be a bit cheaper than a Keyspan or Belkin solution.
