BS2 cant be seen from Virtual PC on iBook

I installed the Keyspan 19 Drivers in mac os9.1 and setup my w98 com2
to use the adapter as shown in various howto pdfs. However, when I try
to program something onto the stamp it returns with no stamps found
message. I dont know what is wrong but the stamp is functional and
powered when I tried this.

Try setting it up like this:

In the VPC application prefs (NOT Win98 it's self), set up Com1 to use the
    Keyspan.

Then, tell the Stamp Editor to use Com1.

Or, if your version of VPC supports USB directly, try installing the Windows
version of the Keyspan drivers and talking to the Keyspan directly from
Windows. Make sure, if you try that, that under the VPC prefs USB is
enabled, and that the Keyspan is selected in the list, and that the Keyspan
extensions on the Mac side are disabled.

Also, have you got the correct Keyspan adapter? The USB to PDA adapter is
the one to use, not a Keyspan to RS422 adapter (RS422 is what the Mac serial
    ports are).

    cheers,

    Ben, Wellington, New Zealand.

Okay, I disabled the mac xtensions, installed win98 drivers and got
the stamp programmed. It worked once and then it didnt work and then
it worked again and so on. This is very unreliable. Sometimes the
editor sees the stamp but will not download.Other times it just says
invalid port. The key is, settings must be correct b/c it does work
    SOMETIMES.

    Is the adapter a "USA-19Qi"?

Or some other variant of that model number (19QW, 19Q, etc.).

Maybe, try disabling the other com ports. IE - in VPC prefs, under the com
ports prefs, tell it to not use any Mac ports for com1 or com2 at all. That
way, the only com port VPC will see (and hence the Stamp IDE), should be the
    Keyspan Virtual Com port.

    That's the theory, anyway. :-)
