I am going to do the Earth Measurements porgram using oembs2 and a
bread board. I do have BOE, but i want to use the other.
I am unable to communicate with the oembs2. I am able to communicate
with the BOE/bs2.
* using the same power supply for both units, 12 vdc 1amp. I have
checked gounds and 12v is regulated to 5v.
* on serial com 1: bps 9600, data bits 8, non-party, stop bits 1,
flow controll xon/xoff
I am only able to make ohm, voltage measurements.

Are you trying to communicate with something other than the
STAMPW.EXE debug window, say, hyperterminal? If so, you will need to
turn flow control to "none" and, more importantly, you will need to
be sure that there is a capacitor or a switch in the line from pin 4
of the DB9 to pin 3 of the Stamp. That is the "ATN" or reset line.
Hyperterminal holds that line HIGH while connected, and that would
hold the Stamp in the reset state, unless you have the switch or
capacitor.
Are you able to program your oembsw using STAMPW.EXE?
