Hyperterminal comm

Question to all. I am prototyping something that is to communicate to
a PC via hyprterminal. Right now I'm sending a dummy "menu" to test
with. When I work on this and test it on my computer at work all is
fine(WIN NT4.0). The problem starts when I take it home to my
computer there which is running WIN 98, I don't receive all of the
message on screen, and it doesn't clear screen when reset. And then I
connect it to a third cpu at home running WIN 2000 and I gett no
communiation at all. I'm using PIN 16 with a switch on the ATT line.
Has anyone seen this before.
