these are great units, but where can we get an inexpensive antenna.

    I don't know if this receiver needs a pre-amp or not but if a non-
    amplified antenna will do I have instructions for a very simple patch
    antenna that works pretty good. If your interested email me at:

    Yes the Oncore's need an active antenna. There is a construction arcticle in the

    October QST for a turnstile(passive) GPS antenna.
